Thusanani closes this gap! The Thusanani Work Readiness Programme (a FASSET sponsored programme) has proven to be an ideal way for unemployed graduates to get employed. In March SHA initiated the 12th intake (since 2005) of carefully selected graduates to participate on the 60 day training programme. At the end of this year approximately 1300 unemployed graduates will have benefitted from this training, (the 13th intake starts in June 2010) and close to 90% have already been placed in gainful employment. Thirty five graduates with disabilities have also reaped the benefit having gone through the training, sixteen of which have been employed full time. |

Specific employer benefits include : The Work Readiness Programme benefits both learners and employers, the learners are given an opportunity to develop critical employability skills and employers can recruit from a pool of the most talented young graduates on the market. Truly the top of the crop! No recruitment fees are payable for the placement of any of these high calibre candidates, regardless of the number of candidate employers select. Each candidate has been through three working months of soft skills development that the employer would otherwise provide. Employing anybody is a risk, usually minimised through the application of expensive testing. These assessments have already been administered and the results are made available to the employers, including psychometrics, credit, criminal, qualification and identity checks. These candidates are not only qualified but also verified!

We make a difference: I was one of the first students that joined the Thusanani work readiness programme in 2005. I’m currently working for Accenture – and enjoying every moment of it. Without SHA, and the Thusanani facilitators this would not have been possible! I love sharing my 12 weeks success story with peers and colleagues! Skills training made a great, big difference in my life. |

Jump-Start Corporate is a work readiness programme designed to assist corporations in providing new entrants to their workforce the necessary skills to succeed at work. One of the primary reasons for this is the fact that while schools, FET's and universities provide learners with tertiary education and technical skills they do not actually prepare them to enter and excel at the workplace. Jump-Start Corporate can be customised to fit the specific requirements of your business. Your own corporate models can be included, for example your company Corporate Governance. Jump-Start Corporate modules have proven to be a successful work readiness formula; however, each individual module can be selected or excluded to suit your corporate needs. On completion of the training a report will prepared for your company which will include an assessment of every individual who has completed the course. This assessment will highlight their current soft skills base and suggest any additional training required. The basis of our corporate curriculum is as follows:
Jump-Start Corporate programme is generally offered over a period of 5 to 8 days full-time or 2 to 3 months part-time. Training can be conducted at our training facilities in Johannesburg or Durban or, if preferred, at your premises. Pricing will be determined by the modules facilitated, amount of learners, venue etc. We would welcome the opportunity to prepare a detailed quotation. |
